Boutique Brands is a family of women’s fashion labels known for reshaping how online retailers connect with customers. Their livestream shopping model — where on-air talent showcases products and viewers purchase directly through comments — was scaling quickly and exposing the limitations of fragmented third-party tools.
To continue that growth, Boutique Brands needed an owned, Shopify-connected system that supported real-time selling, unified product data, and reflected the way their teams worked day-to-day. They partnered with Heady to build a multi-channel platform tightly integrated with Shopify from end to end — across livestreaming, product catalog management, checkout flows, admin tools, and analytics.
Created an owned social commerce ecosystem that unified livestream shopping, product management, and customer interactions across mobile apps, social channels, and internal tools.
Connected storefronts, catalogs, inventory, and order flows to ensure accurate, real-time commerce data across all touchpoints.
Developed native mobile apps, a custom admin panel, and a broadcasting app — all tailored to Boutique Brands’ unique selling model and operational workflows.

Heady designed and built a comprehensive social commerce ecosystem centered around a single stream, unified inventory, and seamless integrations across all channels.
Unified Social Commerce Platform
Heady created custom software that broadcasts from a single livestream to multiple destinations — including social networks and native mobile apps — all connected to a centralized shopping inventory.
Unique features included:
The ability to shop a replay of a livestream
Timestamping products as they appear in video to make shopping easier
Deep Shopify integrations across purchase codes, product data, pricing, and authentication
Every element of the product design and development — front-end and back-end — was built specifically for Boutique Brands’ workflows and selling model.

Heady also incorporated Malible, our proprietary App Management System, enabling brands to update homescreen content, highlight collections, and introduce new stores without developer involvement.

A purpose-built admin interface empowered Boutique Brands to:
Manage pre-recorded and live video content
Create product lists tied to videos and livestreams
Use SSO and Auth0 for authentication
Sync seamlessly with Shopify’s product catalog
Access analytics around video performance and sales
This panel unified content operations across brands while giving leadership actionable data.
Standalone Broadcasting App
Heady built a native iOS broadcasting app enabling sellers to go live from their phones with just a QR code scan.
Key capabilities:
Stream to Facebook and the native apps simultaneously
Allow moderators to communicate with customers in real time
Integrate with Shopify to manage orders and inventory during livestreams
Enable “comment to purchase” functionality, supported by a custom agent that monitored comments and triggered the shopping cart + checkout workflow
This tool made livestream selling fast, intuitive, and scalable across multiple brands.
